Individualized Academic Support

I have been an educator for over 30 years and love teaching kids to read. I have taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grades and was a school principal for seven years. I am back doing reading intervention at a K-8 school and teaching privately.
I received my Teaching Credential from UC Irvine in 1991 and my Master's in Education from San Francisco State in 1998. I also have a Reading Specialist Credential and an Administrative Credential.
As an educator and a mother, I know how hard it is for children who are not performing at grade level in reading, writing, and math. I provide a positive and caring program that helps students gain confidence and improve their academic skills. I strive to build good relationships with my students and their families.
After an initial visit, I will develop an individual program addressing each child's needs. My program is designed to create a positive, safe, and fun atmosphere that enables my students to grow to their full potential and develop a love of reading, writing, and math. Sessions are either weekly or bi-weekly and always one-on-one. Parent communication is very much encouraged.
I focus on these skills to target your child's specific needs: Phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, writing, homework support, confidence building, and Kindergarten readiness.
